How do I complete identity verification?
We need to verify your identity to finalize the setup of your Betterment account.
To complete the verification process, please follow these steps:
- Log into Betterment on a web browser.
- Go to Settings > Profile > Account Suspended > Fix Account.
- Follow the prompts to securely upload your verification documents.
Once submitted, please allow 4-5 business days for document review. You’ll receive a confirmation email once your account is approved.
What if I can’t upload my documents?
If you're having trouble uploading your verification documents—whether the app isn't launching, your photos are blurry, or you're encountering an upload error—the best way to get help is through our chatbot. Log in to your Betterment account and type "I need help with account verification" into the chatbot. The bot will connect you with our team, who can provide a secure upload link via email.
