How do I deposit into my Betterment account?

The primary way to fund your Betterment account is via ACH transfer from a linked bank account. However, deposit methods and requirements vary by account type, and general ACH instructions may not apply to all accounts.

ACH Transfer Instructions for Deposits

• Using the Mobile App:
  
  1. Log into the Betterment mobile app.
  2. Click Move Money on the home page.
  3. Select Deposit and complete the prompts.

• Using a Web Browser:
  1. Log in to your Betterment account.
  2. Click Deposit in the upper right-hand corner of your Home page.
  3. Complete the prompts.
     
     

Important Notes

• Some account types, such as HSAs, 401(k)s, and 529 plans, have unique funding methods that may not follow standard ACH transfer instructions.
• Betterment does not accept deposits via credit or debit cards.
